• The MTN Skillsbox features CV and cover letter templates that will help job seekers get recognised by recruiters.
• The Skillsbox also provides tips for job seekers, including how to get around automated systems screening CVs and get your application in front of a human.

To assist job seekers in finding gainful employment, MTN has launched a portal with a wealth of resources for those looking to stand out to recruiters.

The MTN Made4U Skillsbox offers resources including CV templates, cover letter templates, interview tips and more curated by experienced recruiters and trusted institutions. This includes a rather helpful section about getting past automated systems that screen CVs. With the growing use of artificial intelligence, this is incredibly important and the Skillsbox highlights how to leverage keywords and tailor your CV to get past these measures.

The portal was borne through MTN’s Made4U Squad experience. This mentorship programme gave aspiring professionals guidance regarding their career journey. The telco seemingly wanted to reach more people and so the Skillsbox was created.

“Our Made4U Squad experiences demonstrated the power of personalised support in boosting job seekers’ confidence and skills,” says Tebogo Maenetja, Chief Human Resources Officer at MTN SA. “Through the career portal, we will continue to provide this type of knowledge and know-how to equip those battling to find a job with the skills needed to succeed.”

“But our commitment extends beyond this campaign,” adds Maenetja. “By empowering job seekers with the skills and resources they need to succeed, we aim to make a meaningful impact and catalyse positive change in our society. We implore other corporates to join us in our efforts to combat unemployment and create opportunities for all.”

This is a great initiative from MTN in a bid to assist the millions of South Africans looking for a job. We hope that this Skillsbox has content added as it gets older.
