Huawei teases release of new painting app for next month

  • Huawei is getting to ready its GoPaint app that is purpose-designed for tablets.
  • The app is set to debut globally on 7th May, with it being developed in-house by Huawei.
  • The GoPaint app is also designed to work in conjunction with Huawei’s M-Pencil (3rd generation)stylus, powered by NearLink technology.

Huawei is getting ready to delve deeper into the world of content creation by launching its GoPaint app. The painting app has been developed by Huawei in-house, with the Chinese firm noting that it is the first smart device manufacturer in the industry to create and roll out its own solution for this field.

The company plans to reveal GoPaint to the world in full next month, with an event scheduled for 7th May in particular.

With Huawei expected to showcase some new hardware at the event too, we could see GoPaint being revealed alongside a device to demonstrate its functionality and creative elements. While it remains to be seen what said device would be, given that GoPaint is designed for use on tablets in particular, a new offering to Huawei’s lineup within that product segment would make sense.

“To provide more users with a pleasant artistic creation experience, Huawei has developed and launched the professional and easy-to-use GoPaint app, which further strengthens the appeal of Huawei tablets in the creative field and enhances the drawing and creation experience of Huawei tablets,” the company highlighted in a press release.

“It has launched a number of products favoured by users, including HUAWEI MatePad Pro 13.2″, which features an industry’s first large flexible OLED display and works in tandem with the HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd generation) powered by NearLink to provide 10,000+ pressure sensing levels. With the integration of this app and innovative hardware-software architecture, Huawei aims to establish a creation realm with powerful software and hardware capabilities and fantastic events, paving the way as a trailblazer in the world of creation,” it added.

With the M-Pencil (3rd Gen) yet to be launched in South Africa, the impending reveal of GoPaint bodes well for local content creators wanting to see what Huawei’s hardware and software is all about, especially if they are on the lookout for a new painting app to utilise on tablet.

“Huawei will release the GoPaint app at the HUAWEI Innovative Product Launch on May 7. This app will bring a series of powerful painting tools. It is worth mentioning that Huawei has also worked with a top art team to develop this app, bringing a wealth of brushes, and a variety of smart and convenient painting tools,” it continued.

“The app is very friendly to beginners, thanks to a full set of tutorials, so that users can gradually master advanced painting skills in practice. What other surprises will GoPaint bring? On May 7, let’s wait and see,” Huawei concluded.
