• Disney+ has a number of new shows and movies slated to arrive on the streaming platform next month.
• Among the standout offerings is the wildly popular and critically acclaimed The Bear Season Three.
• A new property lands in the form of Star Wars: Acolyte.

2024 has proved a strong year for Disney+ in terms of the original content that has been available to stream on its platform locally. Among the top performing titles include Shogun, which we earmarked for greatness early doors, and the arrival of content like Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour has naturally proved a hit.

June appears to be keeping that streak going, as there are two shows in particular that we are interested in.

As you can tell from the header image above, one of these is the return of the wildly popular and critically acclaimed The Bear, which returns for season three. “It’s a losing battle every day in the restaurant business, and as Carmy pushes himself harder than ever and demands excellence from his crew, they do their best to match his intensity,” Disney highlights in a release shared with Hypertext.

Joining Carmy and the rest of the chaotic crew from The Bear is a new Star Wars property in the form of Acolyte.

While we don’t know the full story for this series, the first two episodes land next week and it will seemingly offer us a glimpse into a different aspect of the master and apprentice relationship within this universe.

“An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems…,” reads a description for Star Wars: Acolyte.

Along with the above two shows, other noteworthy additions to Disney+ in June include Becoming Karl Lagerfeld and Diane von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge, for any fashion obsessed streamers out there. Other picks for June on Disney+ include two Original Series in the form of Under the Bridge and We Were The Lucky Ones.
