Regenesys Business School addresses rumours about accreditation status

  • Regenesys Business School has issued a statement regarding its accreditation status.
  • The tertiary institution issued the statement following recent rumours that it was not properly accredited.
  • This year several celebrities have been awarded qualifications from seemingly bogus institutions.

This year has proved a particularly concerning period when it comes qualifications from tertiary institutions. In recent months, local celebrities have been issued degrees from seemingly bogus organisations, and in March the registration of Educor and its network of private universities was cancelled.

This has fuelled some rumours online regarding another local institution, Regenesys Business School, which has since issued a press release regarding the status of its qualifications.

The statement is likely in response to well-known South African actress KB Motsilanyane, who shared on social media that she recently graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Regenesys Business School, with many then choosing to question the validity of the qualification.

“Regenesys Business School stands firm in its commitment to transparency and integrity amid recent rumours regarding its accreditation status. The institution wishes to clarify unequivocally that it is accredited by several reputable bodies that audit the credibility and quality of its academic programmes,” the release sent to Hypertext reads.

In particular, it cites two accrediting bodies that have validated its courses – The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and The Council on Higher Education (CHE). It also confirmed that the institution is registered with The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).

“Regenesys Business School wishes to reassure all current and prospective students, alumni, and stakeholders that all qualifications issued by the institution are credible, accredited, and hold significant value in the professional world. The institution remains committed to upholding the highest standards of academic excellence and ethical conduct in all its endeavours,” the release continues.

“At Regenesys, we prioritise the trust and confidence of our students and stakeholders above all else. We want to reassure everyone that our accreditation is valid, and that our qualifications are reputable,” adds Dr Marko Saravanja, founder and executive chairperson at Regenesys Business School.

Whether this is enough to quell the rumours remains to be seen, but the institution has shared its receipts regarding the claims.
