Tarsus expands portfolio with Zerto disaster recovery and data protection solutions

  • Tarsus Distribution has partnered with Zerto to offer its disaster recovery solutions to local businesses.
  • Zerto’s multi-cloud solution feature real-time protection, near-zero data loss and low recovery point objectives.
  • Zerto itself has partnerships with cloud giants Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, VMWare and many more.

The rate at which cyber attacks are being executed means that it’s not a matter of if your business will experience a breach, but rather when. This means a business needs measures in place to recover from a potential ransomware attack and even against other events that disrupt operations.

Acutely aware of this, technology distributor Tarsus Distribution has partnered with Zerto, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company. This will allow Tarsus to distribute Zerto’s disaster recovery solutions feature real-time protection, near-zero data loss and low recovery point objectives.

These solutions will give local business a secure and reliable way to backup their data and maintain business continuity in the event of a cyberattack, natural disaster or other mishaps.

“With the rising frequency of cyberattacks and operational disruptions, it’s imperative for businesses to ensure their data is secure and recoverable. Our partnership with Zerto enables us to provide a seamless and robust disaster recovery solution that protects our customers’ critical assets and ensures business continuity. This is particularly vital in South Africa, where businesses are frequently challenged by power outages and infrastructure issues,” enterprise technology officer at Tarsus Distribution, Chris Larkins (pictured), said in a press release.

Despite an extended period without loadshedding, power cuts will inevitably return and in the event of an electrical surge or an extended outage, businesses need to be able to continue operating. Beyond that, there have also been multiple undersea cable failures of late leading to slow connectivity and potential data losses. With Zerto’s solutions now available through Tarsus and its extensive channel network, more businesses will be able to insure continuity in the event of a disaster.

“With Zerto’s advanced technology and our commitment to exceptional service, we are well-positioned to support our customers in navigating the challenges of today’s dynamic business environment with both traditional on premise solutions and in the very near future, flexible as a service offerings to cover their requirements regardless of location,” adds Larkin.

Multi-cloud capabilities are a core feature of Zerto so it’s good that Tarsus is working to make sure that locals get the full experience. The company also has partnerships with the big players in the cloud sector namely Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, VMWare, and more.

“We are thrilled to partner with Tarsus Distribution to bring our disaster recovery and data protection solutions to the South African market. Zerto’s technology ensures that businesses can recover quickly from disruptions, minimising downtime and data loss. Together with Tarsus, we aim to deliver unparalleled protection and peace of mind to South African enterprises,” Chris Rogers, senior technology evangelist at Zerto said of the partnership.
