Blink by MiWay embraces insurtech after brand refresh

  • After a recent brand refresh, Blink by MiWay has partnered with Sanlam, falling within its fintech division.
  • The insurer aims to use the opportunity to develop more tech-driven innovations.
  • It also believes this approach will assist in better meeting customer needs.

Last month MiWay Blink rebranded to Blink by MiWay.

The change, at least in terms of name is quite subtle. So subtle in fact that it may have gone unnoticed by many customers, but the insurance company explained that the recent refresh is about more than just the name.

“Apart from the name change, the brand’s visual identity including the colour palette, logo, iconography, logo and font style has also been updated to a fresher, more contemporary look and feel, as part of a wider strategy to complement its mother brand, MiWay,” the company shared in a release with Hypertext.

“The refresh is part of the brand’s natural evolution and a reflection of the growth trajectory we are on. We’re incredibly proud of what MiWay Blink has achieved in just three years, establishing itself as a credible player in the digital insurance space. In this new chapter – as Blink by MiWay – we are set to build further on what is a very solid foundation,” added head of Blink by MiWay, Keletso Mpisane.

Along with the rebrand, one of the other key developments for the insurance company is that it is now a part of Sanlam’s fintech division, which will be rallying behind it strategically as a business cluster under the Sanlam Group.

“Blink by MiWay sits within the most innovative cluster of SA’s fintech sector that incorporates financial guidance, rewards, non-intermediated product offerings, and seamless payment capabilities,” highlighted Mpisane.

The overarching goal here is to use technology to accelerate access to financial services for all Africans, Blink by MiWay has ambitiously stated, along with ensuring it meets its customer needs more easily.

“Being surrounded by businesses like these enables us to deliver integrated digital experiences that exceed expectations. With innovations like our WhatsApp bot, we can better meet clients where they are and give speedy access to insurance quotes and other services. In partnering with Sanlam fintech, we can expand our access to technology and expertise to better meet customer needs,” enthused Mpisane.

“We are taking our tech-powered approach with comprehensive coverage, cashback rewards, and exceptional service, to deliver the future of insurance with ease and efficiency,” she added.

Those interested in insurance cover for their motor vehicle, are encouraged to visit the Blink by MiWay website or download its app (iOS, Android, and AppGallery) to get a quote.
