This year’s European Championships, or 2024 Euros, got underway this past Friday, as host nation Germany consummately beat Scotland 5-1. In usual EA Sports fashion, the game developer has weighed in on who it thinks will the tournament, selecting one of the favourites in England.

While we don’t advocate betting in the Hypertext office, if we did, we’d suggest that those wanting to place money on the outcomes of the 2024 Euros heed the advice of EA Sports.

This as the developer has been right about the past two World Cup winners in Argentina and France. The former was an even more impressive precision as Argentina lost their opening game of the tournament to Saudi Arabia, leading to many writing of Messi and co.

“Powered by the advanced Frostbite engine and HyperMotionV technology, EA SPORTS FC 24 used the official Tournament mode to create over 100 tournament simulations to predict who will take the most coveted prize in European international football,” the developer shared in a release with Hypertext.

If the Three Lions are to lift the trophy, they will have to do it the hard way, according to EA.

“EA SPORTS simulated the entire tournament from group stage to final and determined that ENGLAND, after 58 years of hurt since their last International victory, will hoist the trophy following a triumph against hosting nation GERMANY at the Olympiastadion, Berlin in the UEFA EURO 2024 final on July 14th,” it added.
