A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead gets a story trailer

  • Saber Interactive and Stormind Games have released the first story trailer for A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead.
  • Players will take on the role of Alex, an asthmatic who must navigate a world filled with flesh-rending aliens with her boyfriend.
  • No official release date has been announced yet.

On Tuesday, Saber Interactive and Stormind Games released the first story trailer for A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead.

Based on the horror movie franchise of the same name, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will be a survival horror game set in a post-apocalyptic world where sound attracts violent, flesh-rending aliens.

Much like the forthcoming film, A Quiet Place: Day One, the game appears to start off before the aliens land on Earth. Indeed we see them arriving in the trailer above. The game then jumps forward a hundred or so days and we get a look at what has become a silent world.

Players take on the role of Alex who is making her way through the hellscape the world has become with her boyfriend Martin. According to the devs, Alex is asthmatic and from the trailer, can also see she is pregnant. The stakes are rather high then .

The story is said to be “original” but hopefully there are nods to the world the films have built. Obviously. silence is going to be a core part of the game but how that is implemented remains to be seen. For many gamers, being silent and stealthy is the worst part of some games (see: the Mary Jane missions in Marvel’s Spider-Man and all Assassin’s Creed tailing missions) so how the devs overcome this and make stealth fun will be interesting to see.

The game will be available for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S sometime this year although no official release date has been set as of time of writing.

While you wait for that release, why not enter our latest competition. All you have to do is tell us about the games that defined your youth and you could win a R1 000 Takealot voucher. The competition closes at midnight on 26th July.
