ASUS Vivobook S 15 lands in SA

  • Revealed in May this year, the ASUS Vivobook S 15 has now launched in South Africa.
  • The device is the first Copilot+ PC that the company has made available locally.
  • The laptop can be purchased from Computer Mania, Incredible, and the ASUS Eshop.

Only a few weeks ago, a flurry of laptops were announced by Windows 11 OEMs under the Copilot+ banner. One of those OEMs was ASUS, which unveiled its first Copilot+ PC in the form of the Vivobook S 15.

Now the laptop has officially been launched in South Africa, with ASUS holding a local event for media and influencers last week Friday.

Like many of the devices unveiled in the first wave of Copliot+ PCs, the Vivobook S 15 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chipset that delivers up to 45 TOPS from its integrated neural processing unit (NPU). Here the company notes that it, “promises to revolutionise personal computing with its advanced AI capabilities, ultrathin design, and impressive performance features.”

“The point isn’t about wiping entire industries off the map, but about people finding small but significant time savings through AI-powered processes. AI gives us back the most precious resource: time. By automating mundane tasks, we can engage in more meaningful activities,” added Juan Mouton, head of Marketing at ASUS South Africa, in a release shared with Hypertext.

Along with being capable of handling processor-intensive AI tasks, the Vivobook S 15 features up to 18 hours of battery life, a 3K 120Hz Lumina OLED display, Harman Kardon-certified audio, and a 14.7mm thin, 1.42 kg body.
