Cassava Technologies launches its own AI business unit

  • Cassava Technologies has announced that its AI activities will now operate as a separate business unit simply called Cassava AI.
  • It will focus on helping customers to adopt and use generative AI services from the world’s top vendors.
  • These services will be made available in the 40-plus markets Cassava Technologies operates in.

The pervasiveness of generative AI (genAI) is simply too significant to ignore, with businesses across multiple industries looking at ways to integrate the technology into their environments.

It therefore makes sense that Cassava Technologies, which specialises in systems integration for developing markets, has announced that its AI operations will now fall under a separate business unit simply called Cassava AI.

The new business unit will leverage the strategic partnerships that Cassava Technologies has with some of the tech industry’s biggest players, such as, Microsoft, Google, AWS, Anthropic, Oracle, Atlas AI, Cerebras and Palo Alto Networks.

“Cassava already provides services such as Data Centres, Cloud, Cyber Security, Fibre Connectivity, and Renewable Energy to large multinational and local companies. The organisation has already trained and deployed more than 200 people of its 5000-strong staff to empower customers to adopt and use Generative AI services from the world’s leading vendors,” the company highlighted in a release shared with Hypertext.

“Cassava AI is headquartered in London and can already provide services in any of the 40-plus markets in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, where the Cassava Technologies group companies operate. Ahmed El Beheiry, a veteran technology and telecoms executive, will lead this business unit,” added Hardy Pemhiwa, president and Group CEO.

Further unpacking some of the services that Cassava AI will offer, the landing page for the business unit noted that, “We create and curate customisable AI solutions designed to transform customer experiences, enhance business insights, ignite workforce productivity, reimagine advanced data analysis, and refine innovation.”

“Our AI portfolio is as expansive as it is innovative, providing solutions for all markets from consumers to enterprises to the public sector. We are here to ensure every organisation, industry, and country has access to the potential of AI,” it concluded.

With Cassava Technologies have a notable presence at Africa Tech Festival, we will likely see more on Cassava AI at the Cape Town-based event later this tear.
