Where and how to watch the PS5 Pro launch today

  • PlayStation will host a technical presentation on the PS5 tonight at 17:00, it is the expected launch of the PS5 Pro console.
  • The console is rumoured to go on pre-order immediately after getting revealed.
  • The PS5 Pro is a supercharged version of the PS5, and will likely be the most powerful console on the market.

If you’ve been following any of our PlayStation 5 Pro coverage over the last few months, you’d know that we have been waiting for this exact moment, when Sony would randomly reveal a technical presentation in the middle of September.

So today at 17:00 CAT, Mark Cerny, the lead architect of the PS5, will host a technical presentation on the console, and this will almost certainly include information about the PS5 Pro and will likely be the launch of the console.

The PS5 Pro, a supercharged version of the PS5, like the PS4 Pro was to the base PS4, is widely expected to launch this month and become available for pre-order and sale in the next few months, if not earlier.

Some media outlets pointed to the Tokyo Game Show on 26th September as the moment when it would reveal the PS5 Pro and launch the new console, but we expected Sony to simply roll out the red carpet for the console at its own presentation and not have to share the spotlight.

You can watch the presentation and the launch of the PS5 Pro in the YouTube stream embedded below come 17:00:

Sony has yet to officially reveal any information about the upcoming console, apart from a cheeky teaser, but we know from insider sources that the console is real. Some people have seen it and we have a good idea of what it looks like.

We also know that the PS5 Pro will likely be the most powerful console on the market, in terms of hardware specifications and raw performance power, exceedingly more powerful than the Xbox Series X.

Lastly, we have a rumour that the PS5 Pro will go on pre-order immediately after it launches, which may be tonight, but the console is expected to go on pre-order this month and then go on sale at the end of the year, likely in November.

The console is also, according to “pre-order expert” Matt Swider, expected to sell out in record time.
