Having focused heavily on Africa’s gaming sector in recent years, media publisher Carry1st has announced a new partnership that opens it up to the music landscape on the continent.
This as it has partnered with Audiomack, a platform focused on music streaming and artist discovery.
With more than 30 million monthly users, this partnership aims to make it easier for Audiomack customers in Africa to purchase subscriptions to stream their favorite artists using local payment methods.
“Carry1st’s payment solution, Pay1st, enables consumers to pay for digital items via a range of local payment options, such as mobile money, popular digital wallets, and bank transfer,” the company explained in a release shared with Hypertext.

“This new partnership with Audiomack demonstrates Carry1st’s expansion beyond gaming, highlighting the Shop’s growing diversity of content. The Carry1st Shop offers seamless access to a wide range of products, including daily essentials (airtime, data, and electricity), game gift cards and top-ups, lifestyle and entertainment vouchers,” it added.
Moving forward, daily, weekly, and monthly pass subscriptions will be available to purchase via the Carry1st Shop in local currencies in Nigeria, Egypt, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya, Morocco, Tanzania, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Rwanda, Uganda, and Senegal.
Subscriptions will allow users to remove ads when streaming music, unlock specialised app features, and offer more support to their favourite artists. Added to this is unlimited downloads, downloaded playlists, and HiFi streaming.
To mark the partnership, customers can take advantage of a limited time 10 percent off on all passes special being run.
