- Huawei Cloud is preparing to host its first ever South Africa Cloud Summit.
- The Summit will be held on 24th October 2024 at the Gallagher Convention Centre.
- Huawei says the event will focus on SA’s digital transformation and unpack the role a cloud-first approach.
The South African cloud landscape is growing increasingly competitive, as the world’s top hyperscalers have used SA as a launchpad for cloud services across the African continent.
Aiming to showcase its commitment to cloud computing locally, as well as impart the importance of cloud when it comes to digital transformation, Huawei Cloud is set to host its first ever South Africa Cloud Summit next week.
More specifically on 24th October 2024 at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand.
Huawei says it expects to see over 600 industry leaders from a broad range of sectors attend the Summit next week, with it aiming to deliver discussions, speeches, and product showcases that will shape the future of SA’s digital industries.
“From being the first international vendor to host a local hyperscale cloud data centre in South Africa, Huawei Cloud has consistently shown its commitment to introducing leading digital innovations that help sectors succeed in the era of digital intelligence,” the company noted in a release shared with Hypertext.
“This gathering will focus on South Africa’s digital transformation and unpacking the role a cloud-first approach plays in achieving this change. Guests will be able to see first-hand how the burgeoning local digital economy can reach new heights in the near future,” added Steven Chen (pictured above), MD of Huawei Cloud South Africa.
Some of the subjects that will be on the agenda include:
- “Accelerating a sustainable digital South Africa. Huawei Cloud will present its vision for supporting the country’s Cloud policy to progress forward, for the commitment to help South Africa become a digital hub of the continent by offering intelligent and reliable cloud services.

- Cutting-edge product and industry solution launches. New products and industry-specific solutions that will empower businesses to innovate and thrive, will be introduced.
- Sharing expertise that will reshape South Africa’s ICT Industry. Huawei Cloud is committed to sharing its extensive experience and global ecosystem with South African partners and carriers. Through this collaboration Huawei Cloud will assist local digital pioneers to implement and incubate new business models thereby driving innovation and economic prosperity.”
