iStore SA offering training sessions for Apple Intelligence

  • iStore South Africa has announced that it will be offering training sessions for customers around Apple Intelligence.
  • The sessions are roughly one-hour long and can be booked between 12:00 and 14:00 daily.
  • They are free to attend and will highlight the features of Apple Intelligence before it becomes available in SA in December.

Apple Intelligence is here, kind of. The much vaunted on-device AI-powered set of features is rolling out to customers in the United States, provided they have a compatible device.

For us in South Africa, the wait will be a bit longer, as the AI-powered features are only expected to be available some time in December, with a more definitive date still in the offing. You can, however, start downloading the necessary versions of software needed to access Apple Intelligence, with iPhone users needing to update to iOS 18.1.

In the anticipation of Apple Intelligence’s local rollout, retailer iStore South Africa is hosting training sessions for interested customers.

“As part of this exciting launch, iStore is proud to offer exclusive iStore Meets sessions—free training events designed to help users get the most out of Apple Intelligence’s powerful tools. Whether you’re looking to boost productivity, enhance creativity, or simply manage your day-to-day tasks more efficiently, iStore Meets sessions offer hands-on guidance to master Apple Intelligence,” it explained in a release shared with Hypertext.

iStore South Africa confirmed the training sessions are completely free to attend, however spaces will be restricted, so making a booking will be required. Added to this is that the sessions will be one-hour long, and iStore locations will host the training between 12:00 and 14:00.

The sessions will cover several aspects of Apple Intelligence including the on-device processing of A17 Pro (and later) and M-series chips; semantic index across apps like Messages, Notes, and Mail; Writing Tools, Image Playground, Genmoji, and enhanced Siri; as well as user-controlled ChatGPT integrations.

“At iStore, we’re excited to help our customers unlock the potential of Apple Intelligence. Our iStore Meets sessions provide the perfect platform for users to explore how this innovative technology can simplify tasks, inspire creativity, and organise their lives—all while ensuring privacy remains a top priority,” added Chris Dodd, iStore CEO.

More information on booking the sessions can be found here.
