TikTok has released a new way for creators to share content with their followers. Flip Story is an evolution of Stories where creators can share content that disappears after 24 hours.

Flip Story lets creators uploaded two pieces of content to one story post. The first piece of content will appear as normal and the second can be revealed by pressing a button. The platform says its a good way to share before and after photos, exclusive announcements and sneak peeks.

Flip Story is live right now and was launched with help from Billie Eilish. The feature can be accessed via the Story page in the Create section of the app. It should be highlighted that Flip Story only supports image uploads.

“We’re always exploring new ways to equip creators, artists, and brands with tools to share exciting moments and dynamic content with engaged fan communities on TikTok. With Flip Story, we’re excited to offer another format for self-expression and connection, expanding the ways stories can be created and shared on TikTok,” writes TikTok.

This looks like a clever evolution of the Story feature and we’re curious to see what sort of value creators can squeeze out of it. We’re sure that folks are going to get creative here especially with Subscriptions coming to more creators.

Subscriptions give creators the ability to charge their fans a premium to access exclusive content. The functionality is rolling out to creators slowly but we suspect that some will lean on Flip Stories as a way to drive Subscriptions.
