- Steam Next Fest – October 2024 Edition starts today and ends on 21st October 2024.
- Valve has released a trailer showing off many games included in the promotion.
- Like all Next Fests, the focus is on demos and not just buying new games.
Valve’s Steam Next Fest, a demo-focused event that happens every few months, is kicking off its October 2024 Edition today and a new trailer has been released to get you excited about proceedings.
Despite being under a minute long, the trailer gives you glimpses at 11 games all handily shown off with their title included in the bottom left corner. Don’t worry if you missed the names or navigating to the store pages of each as we’ve provided a list with hyperlinks after the video embed.
- SULFUR
- Battle Train
- ANTONBLAST
- Microtopia
- Mini Royale
- The Precinct
- Call Of Boba
- Blood Bar Tycoon
- Is this Game Trying to Kill Me?
- Knights in Tight Spaces
- Luma Island
From the trailer and the store pages two games caught our eye: Mini Royale and Knights in Tight Spaces.
Due to an immense amount of nostalgia for the Army Men series of games, any new title that has playable plastic soldiers will win us over. Mini Royale does just that but, as you may have guessed by the name, the focus is on the popular battle royale format.
“Prepare for an exhilarating new battle royale experience with Mini Royale. In this upcoming game, players are transported into a sprawling kids’ bedroom, where green army toy soldiers engage in an epic combat until only one player or team stands victorious,” reads the store description.
Mini Royale will be going into Early Access in the future with no release date provided just yet.
Knights in Tight Spaces is a “tactical deckbuilding game” that sets itself apart in the genre with a striking art style that reminds us of classical book illustrations.
The “tight spaces” part of the title seems to refer to the use of the environment as crucial part of success, carefully placing and fighting with your knights is the only way to win.
Knights in Tight Spaces also has no set release date.
Mini Royale, Knights in Tight Spaces and the rest of the games featured in the Steam Next Fest trailer all have demos available now for you to check out and play for free. We recommend navigating to the desired games through our list above as the landing page for the event doesn’t seem to be live just yet, only offering visitors the opportunity to set themselves a reminder for when it goes live.
According to the set reminder feature, the page will be live at 19:00 SAST. Once it is live you should be able to navigate to many more games with free demos available in the Steam Next Fest, and not just the ones from the trailer.
