• Billie Eilish is the Apple Music artist of the year for 2024.
• This is the second time the 22-year-old has won the award, the first person ever to do so.
• Eilish has the fourth most total streams on Apple Music across the globe.

Singer-songwriter Billie Eilish is the only person ever to win the Apple Music Artist of the Year Award twice, doing so in 2019 and now again in 2024. Eilish scooped up the award for the Apple streaming service this year, “recognizing the singer-songwriter’s extraordinary impact throughout 2024.”

The Los Angeles native dropped her third LP, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT this year, and quickly launched to No. 1 on Apple Music all-genre album charts across 138 countries worldwide.

“From the moment we first heard ‘Ocean Eyes’ nearly a decade ago, we’ve been fans and champions of Billie’s work,” said Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s senior director of Content and Editorial.

“It’s always special when a young artist can connect with so many people so quickly. But what’s been truly remarkable about watching her evolve over the course of this last year isn’t just that her voice and artistry have continued to resonate so widely.”

“Since day one, Apple Music has supported my music and artistry, and I am both honored and humbled to receive this recognition as Artist of the Year this many years into my career,” Eilish told Apple Music.

It hasn’t just been in streaming that Eilish has dominated the year. Her “What Was I Made For?” single for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie film won her yet another Academy Award – her second as she won another Oscar for the single “No Time to Die” for the James Bond film of the same name in 2021.

She has the fourth most streams on Apple Music ever, behind Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Drake at nearly 45 million. Her latest LP is still at number three on the worldwide album charts on the platform despite being launched worldwide in May 2024.

It is only eclipsed by Linkin Park’s latest effort with new lead singer Emily Armstrong, and this weekend’s surprise album drop from Kendrick Lamar titled GNX.

Eilish’s “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” is still the number one Apple Music song worldwide on the charts as of Sunday. Both her previous albums are still on the top 200 charts. Eilish’s music is being featured by Apple in a new multi-room on the streaming platform and a special playlist just for her fans.
