This roundup was supposed to start off a little differently 24 hours ago. This as the biggest trailer to drop over the past seven days came from HBO with a teaser for White Lotus season three. That changed, however, when the first teaser for James Gunn’s Superman film landed, with it racking up more than 21 million views in less than a day on DC’s official YouTube channel.
Whenever a Superman-related property is unveiled, it carries a lot of weight, but this one may have more given that it is essentially meant to kick off the Gunn-led DC cinematic universe (yes, we know technically it’s Creature Commandos, but this is bigger).
With a little over two minutes of footage to dissect, Gunn and co. have given fans enough to whet the appetite, and it looks like this version of the last son of Krypton is going to be a little more hopeful that the Snyder iteration, although we will miss seeing Henry Cavill in the signature suit.
Superman is currently slated for release on 11th July 2025, and while we’re sure there will plenty more footage shown between than and now, we hope DC and Warner Bros. will leave some surprises for the actual theatrical release.
Other notable trailers featured in this roundup include the aforementioned White Lotus, as well as some Netflix offering in The Electric State and Don’t Die: The Man Who Wants to Live Forever. A24 also has two offerings in the list below with Death of a Unicorn starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega, along with Warfare which features a cast of young male actors akin to Black Hawk Down.
We have also added BLACK BAG from Steven Soderbergh, KARATE KID: LEGENDS, animated series Common Side Effects, and mockumetary specialist Philomena Cunk’s return with Cunk on Life.
