• The titles being added to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium have been detailed.
• Leading the group is God of War Ragnarok, which will be added later this month.

While PlayStation Plus continues to lag some ways behind Xbox Game Pass in terms of making older titles available to players via a subscription-based platform, PlayStation is clearly still leaning on its popular exclusive titles in order to lure users.

Case in point God of War Ragnarok, which is being added to the Extra and Premium tiers of the PlayStation Plus game catalogue.

It is joined by a handful of other titles which are set to be added to Extra and Premium later this month.

If for whatever reason you have not played either the 2018 God of War or Ragnarok, both come highly recommended, and in our opinion are must-plays if you own a PS4 or PS5 console. Even if you do not subscribe to PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium, these are titles well worth your time.

“When people say it’s just a videogame, tell them to play God of War and God of War Ragnarok to understand the heights that AAA titles can reach,” we shared in our review of the game, which you can watch a video of below.

“Explore the mythical snowy landscapes in God of War Ragnarök, Osaka’s vibrant underworld in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, the vast, sandy expanses of Atlas Fallen: Reign Of Sand, and the futuristic mech-sized battlefields of SD Gundam Battle Alliance,” wrote Adam Michael, director of Game Services – Content, Sony Interactive Entertainment.

“These games and more form January’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup and will be available to play from January 21,” he confirmed.

As for the game catalogues, they are split in two – Extra and Premium – with some titles being available on both. Thankfully God of War Ragnarok falls into the latter category.
