• Pokémon TCG Pocket has a new Mass Outbreak focused on Psychic types.
• This event lasts until 28th January 2025.
• Americans also get to enjoy freebies through McDonald’s.

After recently crossing a huge milestone of 40 billion cards opened in the app, Pokémon TCG Pocket is still going with more ways for players to get cards and increase that number. The latest of which is a Psychic Mass Outbreak event and a collaboration with McDonald’s… though that second one is only for the US.

Starting with the Mass Outbreak event that is open to the whole world, players can check out the Wonder Pick tab to see special all-Psychic picks available. This makes Psychic-type Pokemon much easier to get and there are no-cost Bonus Picks available for some free cards.

“During the Psychic-type Pokemon Mass Outbreak Event, Psychic-type Pokemon cards will appear in rare picks and bonus picks. There will also be additional flair available via exchanges during the event. During this event period, there will be missions where you can obtain shop tickets by wonder picking and collecting certain cards. Please see details on the Missions screen,” the in-game announcement reads.

Players can enjoy the extra Psychic influx until 28th January 2025. While that is less than a week, it’s our experience that the Picks update rather often, so you should be able to get a lot of cards and complete the aforementioned Missions in this time period.

For the locked down content in the game, Americans can head to their local McDonald’s to buy the kids-focused Happy Meals. Each of these meals comes with Pokémon items as their included toys, including real world cards that many collectors are vying for.

The Happy Meal also includes access to free digital content inside of Pokémon TCG Pocket. To access this content Americans will need to also use the McDonald’s App and their email to get to their reward.

And what is the reward for buying expensive fast food and juggling multiple apps? Players get 24 Pack Hourglasses which is enough to open two booster packs of five cards, as well as 12 Wonder Hourglasses which speeds up how often you can access Wonder Picks.
