• Samsung has confirmed that its first Galaxy Unpacked event for 2025 will take place on 22nd January.
• The company is expected to reveal its latest Galaxy S25 series of smartphones.
• It is also believed that Samsung will tease its new extended reality (XR) headset, which it has been working closely on with Google.

January is shaping up to be a busy month for Samsung. The tech giant is currently in attendance at CES 2025 in Las Vegas showcasing some new AI-powered TVs and other electronics, but in a couple of weeks it will also be hosting its first Galaxy Unpacked event for the year.

As in previous years, Samsung is getting started early when it comes to its latest flagship phones, and 2025 is no different. To that end, the company confirmed that the next Galaxy Unpacked will be take place on 22nd January, with it being hosted in San Jose, California.

“Get ready for AI that is more natural and intuitive. The next evolution of Galaxy AI is coming and it’s going to change the way you interact with the world every day. The new Galaxy S series is about to set the bar once again for mobile AI experiences now and into the future,” Samsung shared in a blog post.

The live stream for the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked will kick off at 20:00 South African time on 22nd January, where the company is also expected to showcase or at the very least tease its extended reality (XR) headset.

Currently being developed under the Project Moohan moniker, it will be the first headset released commercially in collaboration with Google and its Android XR ecosystem.

At the time of writing, it is unclear whether Samsung will have any other surprise announcements in store for this upcoming Galaxy Unpacked, as was the case in 2024 when it teased the Galaxy Ring, but it looks like the company will once again be looking to set the pace in terms of Android and AI-powered flagship phones this year.

With a couple of weeks to go between now and 22nd January, we expect serial leakers to share all details on the Galaxy S25 series and whatever else Samsung has planned in the coming days.
