What to expect from Samsung at tonight’s Galaxy Unpacked

  • Samsung will host its first Galaxy Unpacked of 2025 at 20:00 this evening, local time.
  • The company is expected to officially unveil its new Galaxy S25 series.
  • Rumours suggest a “Slim” S25, second generation Galaxy Ring, and more are set for tonight too.

This evening, specifically at 20:00 tonight, Samsung will host its first Galaxy Unpacked of 2025.

The event will set a market not only for Samsung and its mobile hardware for the rest of the year, but also lay out the company’s agenda as it relates to on-device mobile AI.

In fact, Samsung says that, “the next evolution of Galaxy AI is coming and it’s going to change the way you interact with the world every day. The new Galaxy S series is about to set the bar once again for mobile AI experiences now and into the future,” regarding the event.

We saw the South Korean outfit do the same last year, with Galaxy AI being all that was spoken about, and several other Android phone makers looking to bring on-device AI to their flagship phones thereafter. As such, it looks like Samsung will aim to set the pace again.

As for the hardware side of things, it is already well known that the company is preparing to officially unveil the Galaxy S25 series. We say officially as the usual swathe of leaks have surfaced online little to the imagination as to the design and look of the upcoming devices.

Some unconfirmed rumours also suggest that Samsung is readying to bring a “Slim” version of the S25 to market, although details are equally slim (excuse the pun) at this stage. As such, it remains to be seen if this will be a device on par with the specifications of the other S25 devices, or a lesser specced option with an ultra thin body.

Other rumours point to the next iteration of Galaxy Ring being revealed too. Samsung surprised everyone with the announcement at the end of last year’s galaxy Unpacked, although the wearable has only been launched in a handful of countries to date.

Lastly, and less of a rumour, is the Project Moohan extended reality headset that Samsung may reveal at Unpacked this evening. The headset is already in the works, with Samsung confirming that it is collaborating with Google in order to bring it to market. Like the Galaxy Ring, we may get a teaser with more information set for another event later in the year.

When this evening’s Galaxy Unpacked rolls around at 20:00 South African time, you can check out the video embodied below, or watch the live stream on Samsung’s YouTube account here.
