As we enter February 2025, many skilled and qualified South Africans are looking for gainful employment.
When it comes to the Gauteng province, the local provincial government has announced the launch of an online job centre as a centralised platform to identify and apply for jobs in varying government departments.
“The Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) has established an online professional job center that allows people to conveniently access and apply for advertised jobs with various Gauteng departments,” it outlined in a statement this week.
“On this platform, many departments advertise available jobs almost on a weekly basis. Advertised jobs vary from Internships, Cleaning, Drivers, Health and Medical, Admin, IT, Construction, Engineering, Finance etc. Job seekers can simply use their smartphone or computer to apply,” it explained.
The site is live right now, and at the time of writing there are six jobs listed. These range from Speech Therapist and Audiologist for Grade 1 to Construction Project Manager (Grade A-C). Along with the titles of the positions, the site lists the potential annual salary range, as well as which department it would be for, and when the closing date for applications is, along with a link to view the job posting in full.
There is a search function for vaccines too, but as there are only a handful of listing right now, it’s not needed.
“It is important to note that the platform will require you to register a profile so that you can easily apply for your preferred job. To easily access all advertised jobs, on the platform search under the tab ‘jobs’ and view all available jobs,” the GPG added.
It also advised that those wanting to apply for jobs must ensure that their profile is registered on the platform, and where required, submit a Z83 form (PDF) that has been correctly completed.
