What happens when you want to go back to a level in the game only to find out that the game has changed so much over the years that level was secretly gotten rid of by the developers. This happens often in long-running titles, especially MMOs. It happened with World of Warcraft, which is why we have Classic now and it recently happened in Destiny 2.
According to court filings, the Destiny 2 Red War campaign, the campaign that players engaged with at the launch of the game in 2017, is lost forever.
This revelation was made in court filings as part of an ongoing copyright lawsuit launched by writer Matthew Kelsey Martineau. The writer alleges that Bungie copied elements of an unpublished story in creating the Red War storyline and the Red Legion faction within the game. Now these parts of the game don’t exist any more, or rather, players can’t reach them. Coincidence?
