The US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has come under fire of late for hacking at the critical jobs of federal employees in the United States, and in many instances needing to reverse decisions as it has not been aware of the full implications of its actions.

Up until now, no official leader for the newly formed government department has been named, with Elon Musk seen by many as its head owing to the fact that he has spoken directly to the media regarding the work at DOGE.

Over the past few weeks, no White House representative has been able to furnish the media with a name, but now we have one – Amy Gleason.

If you’re wondering who that is, Gleason has been named as the acting administrator of DOGE, while Elon Musk has been described as a “special government employee” that oversees the department. This is odd given Gleason is yet to officially address the media in her capacity as acting administrator, while Musk has done so on several occasions already.

Per The Verge, Gleason previously held a position in the US Digital Service, which has since been transformed into the Department of Government Efficiency by Musk.

While we await to officially hear from Gleason, her recent reveal bares a striking resemblance to Linda Yaccarino being named X CEO while Elon Musk seemingly ran the company as he saw fit.

Whether Gleason will become a “fall guy” for DOGE as it continues to confuse, frustrate, and anger federal workers and government officials, remains to be seen.

We may have the name of an administrator, but as for who actually runs DOGE, no definitive answer is known as yet.
