- Zapper’s ‘My Cards’ feature puts all of your loyalty cards into one place.
- The feature supports cards from Woolworths, Checkers, Dis-Chem and Pick n Pay natively.
- Cards can be scanned or manually added to the app to be scanned at checkout.
We have all felt that dread when we reach the till and the cashier kindly asks if we have a loyalty card and today of all days you left your wallet or purse at home. Now Zapper has a solution for that with My Cards.
This digital solution allows users to store their Woolworths, Checkers, Dis-Chem and Pick n Pay loyalty cards in one app. This way, you don’t need to fumble with a plethora of different apps to take advantage of deals reserved for loyalty card holders.
“Consumers value simplicity, speed, and savings,” explains chief executive officer at Zapper, Mark Bryer. “Our new ‘My Cards’ feature fits perfectly into this context. It’s a game-changer for both consumers who want a more efficient way to manage their loyalty cards and retailers seeking to engage customers more effectively.”
“‘My Cards’ is the bridge that connects these two goals seamlessly. It is more than a new feature; it’s a lifestyle upgrade,” said Bryer. “We’re giving South Africans the tools to shop smarter, earn more rewards, and live with less hassle. Wallets are becoming obsolete as we have shifted so many aspects of our daily life towards smartphones.”
Loyalty cards can be uploaded to the Zapper app by scanning the barcode on the card. Card details can also be input manually. To use the cards simply open the Zapper app, head to the Loyalty section and scan the digital card. The simple act of grouping these cards together is reason enough to deploy this solution on your smartphone.
Research from MoyaApp in 2023 found that 76 percent of South Africans use a loyalty programme. This makes sense given the financial strain many South Africans feel on a day to day basis and loyalty programmes can help ease that strain somewhat. We suspect that this figure will continue to climb as local shoppers try to stretch their money further and further each month.
