Latest event in Pokémon Pocket another solo battle drop, this time for Gible

  • The Gible Drop Event is now live in Pokémon Pocket.
  • Play against Gible decks in solo battles to earn rewards.
  • The rewards include a promo booster with five possible cards.

Pokémon Pocket has rolled out yet another limited-time event, this time centred around Gible. From now until 17th March, players can participate in the Gible Drop Event.

The Gible Drop Event is another solo battle event event, meaning that the rewards are locked behind beating the CPU in battles using your decks. Rewards cover many of the currencies in Pocket with the main prize being Promo Pack A Series Vol. 5, which you can see an image of at the bottom of this article.

The pack awards one promo card out of a possible five with the titular Gible joined by Cherrim, Raichu, Nosepass and Staraptor. All five cards have great artworks but the Gible takes the cake with its art matching many of the ones in the latest Triumphant Light half expansion.

If you’re having trouble defeating the various decks in solo battles, Grass types are recommended as most of the Pokémon in the opposing decks are weak to them. Certain prizes also require knockouts using Grass types, so there’s even more incentive to go that route.

If you have been playing Pokémon Pocket for some time now, this event is pretty much identical to the previous solo battle drops that have happened before, with the only change being the decks you are playing against. Any strategies you used for success last time should help here, but note that using decks weak against Fighting types will make it more difficult.

We were able to find success using old decks to complete a majority of these battles. For example: the Blaine deck from the very early days of the game is still a viable strategy to complete the challenges which require you to use only low rarity cards in a deck. This is good news for players, like us, who have fallen behind on the competitive meta and just want to log in to get the new cards.

That being said we do hope the events in Pokémon Pocket get more variety in the future. The ease of completion is quickly being met by boredom whenever a new one is announced, instead of any type of excitement.
