While we wait for Chinese OEM HONOR’s plan to create a larger ecosystem of AI-powered devices to unfold, we take a good look at its latest flagship smartphone – the HONOR Magic7.
“The first thing that hits you when booting up the Magic7Pro is the crispness and clarity of the display, which is a substantial 6.8″ OLED FullHD+ screen (2800×1280). The next are two elements on the rear – the equally massive camera array and the finish of the rear cover,” writes Robin-Leigh Chetty, who had hands-on with the handset.
“Next is the setup experience, which was mixed, to say the least. Signing up is easy enough if you have an HONOR ID which the UI constantly pushes you to utilise.”

With everything being said about China’s DeepSeek, a new generative AI in the same guise as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, but crucially that cost a fraction of the cost to build and claims that it can match the power of the forementioned chatbot, it’s no wonder cybercriminals are using that interest to catch unsuspecting victims.
“With the popularity of AI and folks hungry for free tools that can write them emails or draw up images for party invitations, cybercriminals are having a field day. All an attacker has to do is claim to be offering a free piece of AI software and then bundle their malware with the download,” writes Brendyn Lotz.
