- Nintendo is slated to host another Direct event later today at 16:00 South African time.
- No news is expected for the Switch 2, however, with a dedicated event set for 2nd April.
- Today’s Nintendo Direct will focus solely on titles for the original Switch.
Later today, at 16:00 South African time to be more precise, Nintendo is set to host a Direct event to showcase some upcoming titles.
For those hoping for more news on the Nintendo Switch 2, a dedicated event for the latest handheld console is still slated for 2nd April, according to the Japanese company.
The event scheduled for later today is expected to run for roughly 30 minutes and is said to feature absolutely no news on the Switch 2.
“Tune in on Thursday, March 27th, at 7 a.m. PT for a livestreamed Nintendo Direct, featuring around 30 minutes of upcoming games for Nintendo Switch. There will be no updates about Nintendo Switch 2 during this presentation,” a description for the YouTube placeholder (featured below) outlined.
That said, as Engadget points out, the games that are showcased today will be available to play on the Switch 2, as Nintendo has confirmed backwards compatibility for the upcoming console, which is a key feature.
As for what we will see today, little has been shared thus far, but rumours have been doing the rounds that a notable title like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond could be showcased, as it is still slated for a 2025 release. There is also a glimmer of hope that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be revealed later today too, but that title’s port to Switch has been in the offing for some time now.
