- Cell has announced a partnership with the Inscape Education Group on an initiative called Project 81.
- It seeks to identify, empower, and develop the budding careers of young local creatives.
- The partnership has been earmarked for two years.
This week Cell C announced that it is partnering with the Inscape Education Group on a new initiative aimed at fostering more local creative talent. The network confirmed that the partnership will be for two years, with it running from March 2025 to December 2026.
The first phase of this initiative will involve a design brief portion under the banner of Project 81.
“Central to this partnership lies the first design brief for 2025, providing students with an immersive challenge to conceptualise innovative design solutions. The initiative will culminate in the selection of bursary recipients based on academic and portfolio performance, ensuring that top talent receives the necessary support to thrive,” explained Cell C in a release to Hypertext.

“In 2026, Cell C will further solidify its commitment by funding selected students and offering internships to two top-performing individuals, equipping them with the hands-on industry experience needed to transition seamlessly into the professional world,” it added.
While the full design brief is yet to be shared, those interested are advised to contact either Cell C or Inscape in the coming weeks to get more information.
In the interim, Cell C unpacked the three areas that this two-year initiative will focus on – bridging education, driving entrepreneurship, and career impact.
It detailed the three areas as follows:
- “Bridging Education and Industry – The partnership ensures that students gain practical exposure and a strong professional foundation, allowing them to translate classroom learning into real-world applications.
- Driving Entrepreneurship and Sustainability – The initiative encourages students to explore sustainability, local manufacturing, and ethical design principles, fostering responsible innovation.
- Real Career Impact – With Cell C committing to offering internships to top-performing students, the initiative provides tangible pathways to employment, reinforcing the brand’s role in skills development and job creation.”
“Through this initiative, Cell C and Inscape are paving the way for young South Africans to become leaders in design, technology, and business, proving that true innovation thrives in partnerships built on shared purpose and vision,” the network continued.
Still in the early phase of development, it will be interesting to see how much talent Cell C and Inscape can nurture over the next two years.
