Star Wars games added to the GOG Preservation Program for May the Fourth 2025

  • GOG has added several Star Wars games to its Preservation Program.
  • This ensures that old games remain playable on modern systems.
  • May the Fourth is still several days away.

GOG has gotten a head start on May the Fourth 2025 AKA Star Wars Day by adding several old titles from the franchise to its Preservation Program.

“Time is erasing the games that shaped you. Forgotten, incompatible, unplayable. We can fight back. The GOG Preservation Program ensures classic games remain playable on modern systems, even after their developers stopped supporting them. By maintaining these iconic titles, GOG helps you protect and relive the memories that shaped you, DRM-free and with dedicated tech support,” the official description reads.

This latest intake includes five entries that, on top of being made accessible and playable, have also been put on discount at a flat 75 percent off on all purchases. This discount will last from right now, past May the Fourth, until 6th May.

The five entries are:

Looking at the list and biggest inclusion here is likely Battlefront, the game that many people still hold in high regards as a pinnacle of multiplayer.

While we’re aware that arcade titles aren’t a focus for GOG, we can’t help but pine for Star Wars Trilogy Arcade, the 1998 rail shooter that was still available in remaining arcades into the late 2000s and even the 2010s depending on where you are. When we think of classic Star Wars titles this is the first thing that comes to mind.

Still, we have to give GOG kudos for preserving these Star Wars games and hope that the platform can continue indefinitely until most older pieces of gaming’s history remain easily accessible.
