- Acer debuted as many as 35 new devices at Computex this week.
- The company revealed new Predator, Aspire, Swift, and ProCreator hardware.
- Acer also showcased some wearable concepts that it may make fully fledged products down the line.
Computex 2025 is currently underway this week, which means one thing – new personal computing hardware. We have already seen new laptops from the likes of HP, but no manufacturer has been busier than Acer in recent days, with the company debuting new products in the lead-up to, and during Computex.
In fact, we put the number of new products that the company has revealed over the past few days at 35, if you include the different silicon options it is making available on some laptop models.
While we cannot run through all 35, we have picked a handful of products that piqued our interest, and that should be heading to South Africa in the coming months.
As always, we need to await official local pricing and availability, but these are the new Acer products that caught our eye at Computex.
Starting with Acer’s Predator gaming series, one of the standouts is the Triton 14 AI. Here, the AI element is centred around Copilot+, with Acer noting that, “it enables exclusive experiences like real-time translations by Live Captions and image creation in Microsoft Paint with Image Creator.
On the components side of things, this is a 14.5″ laptop with an aluminium chassis that weighs 1.6 kg and measures 17.31mm thick. The display is an OLED WQXGA+ (2880×1800) screen. “The laptop’s chassis and screen are glazed with an anti-fingerprint coating to keep its minimalist gray cover and display clean and streak-free,” added Acer.
Other elements include an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 288V processor, which is paired with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU with DLSS 4 and NVIDIA Studio drivers.
Shifting to the commercial side of things, and Acer showcased six new models of Aspire AI laptop.
As the name would suggest, they too support Copilot+ and the features that come with it. “As Copilot+ PCs, these laptops serve to streamline workflow with exclusive AI experiences, including Recall (preview), Click to Do (preview), and Improved Windows Search, making it easier to resume tasks and quickly find what users need,” the company explained.
“Acer’s proprietary AI applications – AcerSense, Acer LiveArt 2.0, Acer PurifiedView 2.0 and Acer PurifiedVoice 2.0 – make it easy to manage settings, sift through files, produce stunning content instantly, and improve videoconferencing quality,” it pointed out.
Depending on the region, Acer will have Aspire 14 and 16 AI laptops powered by either an Intel Core Ultra (Series 2), AMD Ryzen 300 series, or Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor.
Next is Acer’s ultralight and ultra-slim laptop model – the Swift X 14 AI. For the 2025 refresh, they too support the bevvy of applications as part of Copilot+, but also feature an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPUs with NVIDIA Blackwell architecture. Added to this is a Calman-verified 3K OLED touch display.
As for the CPU, the Swift X 14 AI houses an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 processor with advanced “Zen 5” cores to provide “fast responsiveness and endurance” to run heavy AI workloads, according to Acer.
There is a Swift X 14 model too, with its only difference being the silicon, as an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 285H is present.
Lastly, we have the new ProCreator monitors. This lineup has not always been a mainstay in the South African market, so we will need to see whether Acer plans to bring a few to our shores later in the year.
“Acer’s new ProCreator Series monitors are tailored for professional creators such as animators, photographers, editors, and designers who demand precise color accuracy and stunning visual clarity for creative projects. All models are Calman-verified, ensuring they meet rigorous standards for reliable color performance and consistency across various workflows,” the company highlighted of the monitors.
Of the four new ProCreator monitors, the PE320QXT is the most notable as it boasts a 6K (6016×3384) resolution. It also supports 99 percent of the AdobeRGB and DCI-P3 colour gamuts, and ensures colour accuracy with Delta E<1.
It is VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified too, along with being touch-enabled and equipped with 8M webcams for real-time collaboration and videoconferencing.
As we await official local availability and pricing, it is clear that Acer will have plenty of new hardware landing in SA over the coming months, especially as we have not touched on all 35 of the products it debuted at Computex this week.
