Post-pandemic, many brands operating in South Africa have seen the value that having an ecommerce presence in the country has had. Joining the growing number of brands is LG, which has announced that its dedicated online store is set to launch at the end of August 2024.
The South Korean outfit shared in a release with Hypertext that the move is focused on creating better engagement with its local customers, as well as making their latest products more easily available to purchase.
“This strategic initiative not only marks a significant shift in LG Electronics South Africa’s business model but also reinforces the company’s Life’s Good philosophy, bringing optimism and convenience straight to South African consumers,” LG noted.
“The new online store promises to revolutionise how South Africans access LG’s premium electronics and appliances. From state-of-the-art OLED and QNED televisions to innovative home appliances, cutting-edge monitors, and efficient air conditioning units, customers will soon have LG’s entire range at their fingertips,” it added.
Along with embracing the power of ecommerce, the brand is also planning to leverage the advantages of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), which too has grown in popularity locally as a purchasing option, as many South Africans grapple with the rising cost of living.
“We understand that investing in quality electronics is a significant decision. By offering flexible payment options and seamless returns, we are removing barriers and empowering our customers to embrace the good life that comes with LG technology,” pointed out Jinkook Kang, Subsidiary president at LG Electronics South Africa.
“Besides flexible payments, the platform will offer seamless returns, ensuring customer satisfaction remains at the forefront of LG’s e-commerce venture. But the benefits do not stop there. LG is expanding its esteemed Premium Service to eligible items bought through the online store. This complimentary service encompasses free delivery, expert installation, and ongoing customer support,” the company continued.
For those fans of the brand, as well as those intrigued by the prospect of an LG online store, it is advising customers to sign up here as a member in order to enjoy special members-only benefits, which include a 5 percent discount coupon for their first purchase, free delivery, and access to exclusive events.
The LG online store is not live yet, but will be after 31st August, so check out the LG website to stay updated.
