With the holidays finally here it’s a great time to reload your Fortnite account with V-Bucks and enjoy the game’s paid content. Unfortunately the price of V-Bucks is unchanging, but a promotion launched earlier this month by Epic Games will get you more money back when you make a purchase.
On the Epic Games Store shoppers can earn “Epic Rewards” in the form of a five percent back on their purchases, which can then used for future purchases to make them cheaper. Until 9th January, however, that number has been doubled to 10 percent, giving you more money to re-use on the shop later.
This 10 percent in returned money applies to everything on the Epic Games Store, including V-Bucks, so shop away, but keep some caveats in mind.
The first is that the returned money is locked inside of the Epic Games Store, so you’re only benefitting when buying more content in the future. Secondly, you can only access these funds after a full 14 days, so there is quite a while to wait between purchases.
Additionally, If you’d like to buy V-Bucks as a present for someone, you can’t do so directly on the Epic Games Store and pick up the 10 percent Epic Rewards. Unlike competitor Steam, the Epic Games Store simply doesn’t have the functionality to send purchases to friends and family as gifts.
To get your 10 percent while still giving out gifts, you’ll need to load the V-Bucks onto your account and then buy items inside of the Fortnite Item Shop, which can be given to other players as gifts.
Outside of V-Bucks, Fortnite bundles (which unlock content in the game but can only be purchased with real money) can also be picked up with this 10 percent money return. Right now the cash-only bundles on the Epic Games Store include the items in the list below.
For those who have been wanting to try the Save the World mode, buying the Ghoul Punk Pack will unlock it, making this the perfect time to do so considering the current promotion.

Not limited to V-Bucks: Other premium currencies
While Fortnite is arguably the biggest game in the world and the most people would benefit from money back on purchasing V-Bucks, our guide above to getting money back applies to any game with a paid currency.
This includes games like Fall Guys and its Show-Bucks currency, Creation Credits for Bethesda games, Destiny 2’s Silver and more.
Any game that sells its premium currencies directly on the Epic Games Store is included in the current boosted Epic Rewards programme so make use of it while you can.
