Tickets now on sale for Deadpool & Wolverine in SA

  • Tickets are on sale today in South Africa for Deadpool & Wolverine, in cinemas from 26th July 2024.
  • The film sees Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman portray their Marvel Comics legends in a Rated-R superhero team-up.
  • “Let us lower your IQ and elevate your heart rate,” says Reynolds of the film.

Tickets are now on sale across South Africa for fans to book their first viewing of Deadpool & Wolverine, launching worldwide in cinemas from 26th July 2024.

The film sees immortal mutants Wolverine and Deadpool team up to solve a number of inter-universe shenanigans as the pair enter the lauded Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time ever, and get this: it’s rated R in the States, so expect blood, nudity and profanity galore.

To celebrate tickets going on sale today, Marvel Studios shared a new poster for the film:

Tickets are available “everywhere where tickets are sold,” Disney South Africa told Hypertext via email statement.

First pitched as a buddy cop film with the two Marvel comics legends, the movie has been included in the larger canon of the MCU, and even reveals some interconnected aspects from previous films in the trailers, like a giant Ant-Man skull.

Fans shouldn’t expect the film to reinvent the artform of movies, as per Reynolds’ own disclaimer: “This film is as paper-thin as a sequel to Battlefield Earth. We’re mostly going to beat each other senseless, make enemies with Disney, tell a few dick jokes, make a few jokes at my expense, make a lot of jokes at Hugh’s expense and completely sidestep Marvel’s mandated after-credit sequence.”

“So sit back, relax and let us lower your IQ and elevate your heart rate as we travel to a vapid dreamland,” the Deadpool actor says.

Shawn Levy directs “Deadpool & Wolverine,” which stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Matthew Macfadyen.

Kevin Feige, Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Levy and Lauren Shuler Donner produce with Louis D’Esposito, Wendy Jacobson, George Dewey, Mary McLaglen, Josh McLaglen, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Simon Kinberg serving as executive producers.

The film is written by Ryan Reynolds & Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick & Zeb Wells & Shawn Levy.
