• Nintendo South Africa is running a ‘Cosy Winter Sale’.
• It will last between 21st June and 14th July.
• Items are apparently 70 percent off, but the highest we found was 67 percent off.

Nintendo South Africa has kicked off a sale on its online store which is live right now and will last until 14th July. While sales happen every day, we’ve had a look through the offering here and found that there’s actually quite a few deals to be had, which is especially notable as Nintendo products are usually priced high and kept that high for their lifespan.

Before we get into the actual sale and what stood out to us as a good deal, we have to discuss the claimed 70 percent off that Nintendo South Africa has touted in its marketing for this promotion. We have looked at every single item included in the sale and have been unable to find anything at 70 percent off. The king of the sale, as far as we can see, is Bravely Default 2 at 67 percent off.

That being said it is possible that we have already missed the 70 percent off items as a select few products are now out of stock.

Two factors make this event better than just saving half of your money: the Pokémon amiibo and the multipacks.

Certain Pokémon amiibo, such as Pichu and Ivysaur, are incredibly rare. If you want a full amiibo collection, or you just love Pokémon, you would have to shell out more than a thousand Rand in the past for these scarce figures, and that’s if you could even find them. Now you can pick them up in this sale for a fraction of what they used to cost and have it shipped right to you.

And this is on top of the fact that Nintendo South Africa has stock of the rest of the Pokémon amiibo too. It took us several years and way too much money to complete our collection of Pokémon amiibo, but you can buy them all right now from one store at half off. Do not miss this opportunity.

Aside from Pichu and Ivysaur, there’s Charizard, Greninja, Incineroar, Jigglypuff, Lucario, Mewtwo, Pikachu, Pokémon Trainer and Squirtle.

As far as we can see, the only missing Pokémon amiibo is the oversized Detective Pikachu.

Multipacks – amiibo boxes which contain more than one figure – are also included in this sale and also at half off. Multipacks are expensive and even rarer to go on sale compared to single amiibo figures, so again this is an amazing chance to get them for less.

Lastly there’s the oversized Guardian from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It too is 50 percent off.
