The undeniable star of this year’s Mobile World Congress – as far as flagship smartphones go – was Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Edge. With its beautiful wraparound screen that curves over the sides of the phone it’s a unique and elegant thing to behold and – indeed – hold.
But given that the expected price tag when it launches here on 10th April is over R13 000 (unconfirmed), it may be a case of look-but-don’t-touch rather than can’t-wait-to-get-your-hands-on-it.
To sweeten the deal, Samsung has just sent word that the first people to pre-order either the Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge will receive a free wireless charging pad, which is a tempting offer to be sure. According to the short statement just sent out, you’ll be able to get your charger by ordering through Samsung.com or one of the network operators – although stock will be limited to an unspecified number.
If that sounds generous, check out MTN’s homepage. The yellow team is offering the first 200 people who sign up to express an interest in the phone – not even preorder – a bundle which includes a wireless car charger, backup battery and Galaxy Circle headset. We assume that as the deal is still being advertised you can still register and qualify.
