Possible LEGO set based on Gravity Falls is gaining momentum

While Gravity Falls may be finished its fandom is still active and looking for new content, such as the recently released boxset and a new comic.

Now, however, the series may be making the jump to bricks thanks to LEGO Ideas. This platform – an official programme by LEGO – turns fan creations into boxed sets sold in stores.

Real interest started in this product thanks to series creator Alex Hirsch. On 8th August he tweeted out a link to an Ideas campaign for a Mystery Shack build, stating later that it’s been his life’s dream to “accidentally step on my own LEGO Mystery Shack while walking to the kitchen for a midnight snack and scream in pain.”

While this generated a lot of interest and garnered the campaign a lot of steam, it got even more a few hours ago as it was chosen as the staff pick by the LEGO Ideas team.

An exploded view of the three separate floors that make up the Mystery Shack.

The proposed set has a few interesting features outside of merely looking like the building from the show. There’s an included golf cart, three different floors with unique elements on each, and five minifigures of the core characters: Dipper, Wendy  Stan (with fez), Soos and Mabel. A standard LEGO pig is included as Waddles.

So does this have any chance of becoming a set you can buy? LEGO Ideas works on a voting system and a project needs 10 000 votes to even be considered.

Right now this has just under 3 000 votes, but it still has 591 days to get the rest of the support it needs. If it manages to get that before the time runs out, it will need to go through a rigorous review process that includes obtaining the licence for the property, making sure it can be a feasible, strong build, and many other checks we’re not privy too.

If you’d like to show you interest go to the campaign page, sign up, and vote for it. This process is a bit more fiddly than simply dropping your email down, so you will need to put in the extra clicks to get this made.

With the Ideas series already bringing us great sets like Voltron and the marble maze, we’re always happy to see new and interesting builds like this.
