Samsung South Africa VP of Integrated Mobility, Craige Fleischer has stepped down

Samsung South Africa has confirmed to Hypertext that the vice president of Integrated Mobility at Samsung South Africa, Craige Fleischer has parted ways with the firm.

The news comes less than a year after Fleischer resigned to pursue a position at MTN as head of devices. The now former VP at Samsung South Africa turned that position at MTN down in favour of a vice-president position at Samsung South Africa.

Samsung South Africa has not confirmed the reason for Fleischer’s departure but has revealed who will be succeeding the former VP.

Samsung South Africa has told Hypertext that former chief marketing officer Justin Hume will now take over the reigns as Director of Integrated Mobility.

Samsung is certain that Justin will take on his new role with the dedication, passion and skill he has always displayed,” Samsung South Africa told Hypertext.

Hume has been with the Samsung team since 2012 and his relationships with stakeholders will serve him well.

The big question now is where Fleischer is headed next. The former VP is a formidable businessman having held positions at Research in Motion (the folks who used to make BlackBerry handsets) and Vodacom.

Perhaps MTN will approach Fleischer again though with talks of the telco possibly merging with Telkom, we’re doubtful MTN is looking for new hires.
