ESET launches online safety platform for kids

ESET has today announced the launch of its Safer Kids Online platform with a view of building a safer online environment for children.

The platform will host a number of resources suitable for children, teenagers and parents that deal with how to stay safe online.

“The digital age has brought boundless opportunities for progression around the world, but dangers are also present and alive. Children particularly can face risks, and we know that parents and schools, even with the best intentions, don’t always have the knowledge of how to protect their kids in the digital sphere,” says chief executive officer at ESET South Africa, Carey van Vlaanderen.

Safer Kids Online is available in a number of languages and includes a video series for kids aged 8 and up and comics for older kids 11 and up.

Unfortunately for the parents there are no comics but there are a number of articles and videos created by experts that tackle the subject of online safety.

“ESET’s new Safer Kids Online initiative is committed to creating a safer online world for children, by providing a go-to educational resource for families and schools around the world,” says van Vlaanderen.

The platform will also give parents advice on software and how to use apps such as ESET Parental Control for Android to look out for their children online.

You can visit and start using the Safer Kids Online right now.
