We’re a couple of weeks away from 2019 coming to an end, with it also bringing a close to the decade. As such a number of listicles and roundups are being released, and the latest to pique our interest is Google’s Year in Search.
As has become a tradition for the company, it has provided a number of different top 10’s, including what the most searched movies/TV series, questions, artists were in 2019. The Year in Search also provides insight on what was most most searched for the past 10 years.
In terms of 2019, the highest trending search terms were unexpectedly loadshedding, Fiona Viotti, Thanos and Black Friday specials.
Looking through the lists, which we’ve included below, is the top searched questions of the decade. Coming in at number one is “how to make slime?”, followed by “why were cornflakes invented?” and “how to get rid of belly fat?”. As such it’s clear that South Africans search a wide variety of subjects.
