The Lenovo Channel Awards 2021 were held virtually last week. 5th August to be more precise and the focus on the event was to honour local technology distributors that have excelled over the past year.

Given that the past 18 months have proved daunting for a myriad industries and companies due to the pandemic, Drive Control Corporation (DCC) walking away with the Commercial Distributor of the Year award is quite the achievement.

The accolade is even more impressive given the fact that Lenovo chose to extend its relationship with DCC as a distributor of its small-to-medium business products in SA as recently as January 2021.

“The Commercial Distributor of the Year award undoubtedly speaks volumes of the companies’ successful partnership which has grown in leaps and bounds since DCC was first appointed Lenovo’s PSG distributor for the SADC region three years ago,” explained the distributor in a statement.

“Winning the Commercial Distributor of the Year award is such a wonderful acknowledgement of the hard work that the Lenovo and DCC teams have, in a very short time, delivered to further solidify the brand in South Africa. We couldn’t be happier; thank you to Lenovo and our channel partners for your ongoing support in these unprecedented times,” added Jenny Rex, sales director at DCC.

With a return to normal still some ways off, it looks like more local distributors will be looking to DCC as an example of resiliency during the continued chaos of the pandemic.
