Imgur, the image-sharing platform once best known as a sister site to Reddit, is hosting an online Pet Show for the fourth year in a row.

Until 19th August users can share pictures and videos of their pets across five categories. Winners of each category will receive prizes and then move onto best in show with the ultimate winner being chosen from there by Imgur employees.

To participate users need to create a new post with original content that can’t have been posted before. This post needs to use the tag #petshow2021 as well as the tag related to the category that is being entered into.

The categories are top trick (#TopTrick2021), weird and wonderful (#WeirdandWonderful2021), most photogenic (#MostPhotogenic2021), cutest sound (#CutestSound2021) and best dressed (#BestDressed2021).

While dogs and cats may be the most popular pets around the world any animal is allowed to be entered, though we do suggest that everyone partaking reads the fine print of the contest available here. Of particular note is entrants in the EU will have some extra steps to go through with shipping prizes due to privacy laws.

Best In Show winner:

• Custom portrait of your pet by digital artist @Smawg
• 6 months of Imgur Emerald
• $200 donation to the animal charity of your choice

While the above isn’t exuberant Imgur is known for sharing of pet pictures and videos anyway, so you may as well do so now with a chance to win those prizes.

For new users on the platform Imgur Emerald is the paid version of the site that removes adverts and provides several small digital goodies.
