MTN’s new uncapped fixed-LTE packages start at R499

For South Africans who don’t have access to fibre, wireless solutions are the next best option and MTN has introduced new uncapped, fixed-LTE packages.

With its new MyMTN Home packages, MTN hopes that more South Africans will be able to enjoy an uncapped internet experience. While working from home is not as widespread as it was during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, having an uncapped internet connection is a great resource to have in your pocket should those orders come down the line again.

There are three MyMTN Home Uncapped Fixed LTE deals currently available. These are:

  • 10Mbps uncapped at R499 (Fair usage policy of 400GB)
  • 20Mbps uncapped at R699 (Fair usage policy of 600GB)
  • 30Mbps uncapped at R799 (Fair usage policy of 700GB)

MTN says that when the fair usage policy comes into force, speeds will be reduced to 2Mbps or 4Mbps depending on the price plan you have selected.

The network operator has also said that from 1st October through to 31st December, customers who purchase any of the 24-month contracts will receive a free router.

“We are excited to introduce MyMTN Home Uncapped Fixed LTE gives customers high-speed uncapped streaming, endless connectivity, and coverage with always-on reliability and a seamless start with a free WiFi Router,” says general manager for Residential at MTN South Africa, Megan Nicholas.

As for businesses that are looking for an uncapped fixed-LTE solution, MTN says it will launch business deals later this month.
