Forza Horizon 5 is getting in-game sign language translation

We’re still really enjoying our time in Forza Horizon 5 – well, so long as we have electricity – and this iteration of the game is looking to be the best of the series so far.

With the game launching to the masses on Tuesday 9th November we wanted to highlight the wide range of accessibility options available but one in particular which will be added to the game in the future.

That feature is on-screen American and British Sign Language translations. These translations will be included in a picture-in-picture display near the bottom of the screen. This sign language translation will only appear during in-game cinematics.

This feature isn’t in the game as yet but Playground Games’ creative director for Forza Horizon 5, Mike Brown, says it will be coming to the game soon.

“We want everyone in the world to be able to experience our game, and with more than an estimated 400 million gamers with disabilities across the globe, it is vital that all players be able to tailor their gameplay in a way that works best for them,” said Brown.

Other accessibility options that are noteworthy include a Game Speed Modification which allows players to adjust the speed while playing offline and a new Tourist difficulty which gives players more of a fighting chance in races.

You can also find myriad options for colour-blindness including the option to enable better colour options for either the user interface, in-game elements or both.

Forza Horizon 5 is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC tomorrow. It’s also launching on Xbox Game Pass on Day One so if you’re a subscriber you get access to one of the best arcade racing games we have ever played.
