Unisa opens applications for postgraduate bursaries

The University of South Africa (Unisa) has opened up applications for postgraduate bursaries. Between now and 31st January students can apply through the university.

Doctoral bursaries, master’s, postgraduate diploma and honours are all supported here.

“Students are advised to use Chrome and/or Internet Explorer when applying via the bursary application platform. Students must use their myLife e-mail account when communicating with the university,” reads an announcement.

“For any enquiries about bursary applications, please send an e-mail to CGS-pgb@unisa.ac.za For postgraduate bursary claims, refunds or Intellimali-related enquiries, please send an e-mail to DSF-POSTGRD@unisa.ac.za.”

Said announcement also links to this page to start the application process. From here students can then navigate to the appropriate section for the qualification they are studying towards and what bursary or loan they are seeking.

We’re not sure if the pages here haven’t been updated or the dates are simply wrong, but they don’t line up.

For example one page states that the application period opens on 6th December 2021, while the aforementioned announcement clearly states that it is 4th January 2022.

Students unsure about these dates should use the contact details provided above and / or contact the heads of their departments who should be able to help or at least point them in the right direction.

Those who successfully apply, or want more information before doing so, can read up on the details on this FAQ page.

The contact details question – “How to contact Intellimali?” is also particularily important here with the answer reading:

“email to: info@intellimali.co.za or Website: www.intellimali.co.za [or] Call 087 2300 161″.

Unisa is infamous for poor communication with its students, long wait times and unanswered emails, so any additional channels of contacting the university are welcomed. With that in mind, however, we wouldn’t be surprised if Unisa isn’t at full operating capacity just yet.

Many companies and organisations still have staff on leave this early in the year, and it wouldn’t be surprising if this applies to Unisa too.
