Samsung’s new Galaxy S22 series of phones are now out in the open, following a Galaxy Unpacked event earlier today.

As the new flagship offering from Samsung, the three models serve up similarities, but there are distinct differences, which we have laid out in a table below.

As far as the similarities are concerned, all three are powered by Qualcomm’s new 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which sees the company move away from its Exynos foundry.

The same goes for 5G and WiFi 6E support, with the South Korean outfit certainly leading other Android phone makers when it comes to adding connectivity for the broadband standard on its devices.

From there, things start to get a little different, with the S22 and S22+ featuring a few of the same elements, but the key difference being size, with the former featuring a 6.1″ display and the latter a larger 6.6″ one.

RAM and storage options are the same at 8GB for memory and up to 256GB for space. As is the camera arrays, with a 10MP front facing option and a trio of lenses on the rear – 50MP wide, 12MP ultra-wide and 10MP telephoto.

As for battery capacity, the larger S22+ has a 4 500mAh battery while the S22 has a 3 700mAh unit.

Looking at the S22 Ultra here and Samsung have not held back, with the addition of a recessed S Pen Stylus being the most notable inclusion for this iteration.

Looking at the other key components, a 6.8″ Edge QHD+ display is found, along with a 5 000mAh battery and up to 12GB RAM and 1TB storage. The final significant difference is the 108MP primary lens found on the rear.

While we have detailed all the most important specifications for all three models of Galaxy S22 above, we still do not have official confirmation of South African pricing and availability, but will share it with Hypertext’s readers once it is provided by Samsung.
