Kaspersky can now handle takedown requests for its customers

Business owners spend a lot of time building their website ensuring the user experience is up to par, that security is adequate and that everything works.

To have that website copied with malicious intent then can be incredibly harmful and the process of having a malicious website taken down can be complex.

To that end, Kaspersky has launched the Kaspersky Takedown Service. Working with the Kaspersky Digital Footprint team, the Takedown Service manages the take down of malicious and phishing domains.

The firm is primed to offer a service such as this thanks to both its extensive experience in threat research and its relationships with law enforcement agencies such as INTERPOL and Europol.

“Kaspersky Digital Footprint Intelligence, empowered with Takedown Service, is an important supplement to our Threat Intelligence portfolio. Just like the other Kaspersky TI [threat intelligence] products, this service combines our experience to fulfill actual customers’ needs and reduce the burden on their cybersecurity departments, allowing in-house specialists to focus on higher priority goals,” explains head of threat exploration at Kaspersky, Vladimir Kuskov.

The Takedown Service is purchased independently or as part of a Digital Footprint Intelligence subscription.

Customers who purchase the service independently can submit request for takedown of undesirable domains. You will need a Kaspersky Company account which the Kaspersky support team will setup for new customers on request.

Digital Footprint Intelligence subscribers will have the service activated automatically should a malicious domain be detected.

“Customer will receive a notification that harmful content was identified and after this may initiate the takedown process. Standard package includes ten takedowns per month and can be customised depending on customer’s needs,” Kaspersky explains.

The firm says that customers will be notified at each stage of the process until, hopefully, the malicious or phishing domain is removed.
