Oppo offers first look at Find X5 ahead of 24th February event

We are gearing up for Mobile World Congress later this month, but unlike the past couple of years due to the pandemic, we could actually see some new mobiles being revealed.

This brings us to Oppo, which this week showcased some imagery of its upcoming Find X5 flagship phone ahead of an event next week. Said event is set to take place on 24th February at 21:00 SAST, with Oppo sharing some details before things kick off.

On this front we now know some of the internal components and silicon that the Find X5 will be sporting, with Oppo touting its power and processing capabilities.

“At OPPO INNO Day 2021, OPPO announced MariSilicon X, the dedicated imaging Neural Processing Unit, which overcomes smartphone video capture’s greatest challenge – nighttime recording. Taking quality to new heights with its cutting-edge 6nm architecture, real-time RAW processing, and up to 20x faster 4K AI performance – Find X5 Pro shines a light on the night,” a blog post for the device explains.

“Powered by the latest-generation, multicore Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, the Find X5 Pro stays cool under pressure and is supercharged to handle the most demanding games and applications,” it adds.

By the sounds of things, Samsung may have a little competition for the new Galaxy S22 series it revealed earlier in the month. That said, the chances of seeing this device launch in SA are unknown at this stage.

The impressive Find X3 Pro for example, was not scheduled for a local launch as Oppo South Africa has focused on affordable devices in the mid-range space since setting up operations in the country.
