Elden Ring continues its Steam domination with Steam Deck in 2nd

In a surprise to very few Elden Ring continues to be the best selling item on Steam, but right behind it is Valve’s own Steam Deck.

This comes to us, as always, from third party tracking site Steam Database (SteamDB) which provides a recap of the top 10 sellers on Valve’s storefront by revenue generated for the week.

Elden Ring now only claims first place – something it did last week too – but also third. Due to the way games are listed on Steam, with different editions of the same title listed separately, this claiming of multiple spots on the list happens often.

The Steam Deck, then, walks away with a silver medal as more and more people who booked pre-orders are finally receiving the email from Valve in which they can order their hardware.

Another piece of tech from the company appears on this list with the Valve Index VR kit popping up in sixth place. It’s not uncommon for the Index to appear on this list every week without any real impetus or discount driving sales, it’s just a perennially popular item on Steam.

  1. ELDEN RING
  2. Steam Deck
  3. ELDEN RING
  4. Core Keeper
  5. Risk of Rain 2: Survivors of the Void
  6. Valve Index VR Kit Package
  7. Red Dead Redemption 2
  8. Dread Hunger
  9. Dying Light 2 Stay Human
  10. WWE 2K22.

Looking at the rest of the list and there aren’t too many surprises. Both the Risk of Rain 2 paid expansion Survivors of the Void and the co-op survival title Dread Hunger have appeared on past lists.

The one outlier seems to be Core Keeper which launched into Early Access on 8th March.

“Explore an endless cavern of creatures, relics and resources in a mining sandbox adventure for 1-8 players. Mine, build, fight, craft and farm to unravel the mystery of the ancient Core,” reads the game description.

Looking at the trailers and screenshots and Core Keeper seems to be a mix of Terraria and Stardew Value. It’s expected to leave Early Access at the end of 2022, but the developers are keeping the window open to exit outside of that time period.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is yet another game that pops up on this list often, but it’s likely here because it’s currently discounted by 50 percent until 24th March.
